Senior Building Services Engineer- Electrical

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Building Services Electrical Engineer to join a leading construction business delivering major projects across the London region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong building services professional looking to play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of complex construction projects. Working closely with project teams, consultants and subcontractors, you will help ensure engineering excellence from tender stage through to project completion.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across multiple projects, supporting design reviews, buildability assessments, compliance, coordination and delivery of high-quality electrical building services solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical reviews of electrical building services designs and specifications.
• Support tender submissions through engineering assessments, buildability reviews and technical input.
• Manage and coordinate MEP design activities and interfaces with architectural and structural teams.
• Review and evaluate manufacturers' technical submissions and equipment selections.
• Assess subcontractor tenders, technical capabilities, programmes and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, specifications and sustainability requirements.
• Manage the production and review of coordinated installation drawings.
• Support project teams throughout delivery, ensuring quality, programme and technical requirements are achieved.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and key stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience within the construction or building services sector.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical building services systems and design coordination.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare, education or mixed-use developments.
• Strong understanding of design management, technical reviews and project delivery.
• Knowledge of relevant building regulations, industry standards and best practice.
• Experience with sustainability frameworks such as BREEAM, WELL or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience leading engineers or managing design teams would be beneficial.
