A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join a well-established main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across the commercial, educational, and industrial sectors.
This Project Manager role in the East Midlands is an excellent opportunity to join an established delivery team and play a key leadership role in delivering exciting projects from inception through to completion.
Client
Our client is a reputable Tier 2 construction main contractor with a proven track record in delivering complex schemes, including schools, office spaces, supermarkets, and industrial builds up to £25m in value.
With a strong reputation for quality, collaboration, and integrity, they pride themselves on building lasting relationships with clients and partners while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager in the Yorkshire region to strengthen their delivery team and support ongoing success across the region.
Role
As Project Manager, you will take ownership of project delivery from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring all stages of the process are managed effectively. You will lead site and commercial teams, maintain quality and safety standards, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest specification.
You will work closely with clients, design consultants, and the senior leadership team, managing all aspects of design coordination, commercial performance, and planning throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the Project Manager include:
Lead and manage projects from inception through to completion
Responsible for the Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental performance of the project
Develop and implement detailed project programmes and monitor progress
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
Manage the CVR project budget, forecasts, and cost control processes
Work closely with our Managing Quantity Surveyor to monitor financial performance
Identify risks and opportunities to maximise project value
Champion a strong health & safety culture across all project activities
Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation and company policies
Conduct regular site reviews, audits, and safety briefings
Act as the key point of contact for clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business
Lead project meetings and provide regular reporting on progress
Lead, motivate, and develop site teams, including Site Managers and Engineers
Coordinate internal teams and external subcontractors
Promote collaboration and high performance across all project stakeholders
Monitor programme performance and implement corrective actions where required
Ensure all works meet quality standards and client requirements
Oversee commissioning and handover processes
Person
To be successful in this Project Manager role in the East Midlands, candidates should ideally have:
Proven experience managing design and build projects from pre-construction to handover
Level 6/7 Degree Qualified
Strong design, commercial, and planning knowledge and experience
A solid background in delivering new build construction schemes across multiple sectors
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and control costs
Experience of working on projects valued between £4m - £20m
A proactive, organised, and solutions-driven approach to project delivery
SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid & Temporary Works certification
The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure safe, high-quality project execution
