Overview



Are you a Crane Supervisor looking for your next opportunity across UK construction sites?



Atkins Search are working with a respected construction contractor delivering a range of commercial and education projects across London. As lifting operations become increasingly critical to project delivery, we’re seeking an experienced Crane Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all lifting activities on-site.



This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Crane Supervisor to play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient lifting operations across a variety of construction environments.





Responsibilities



As a Crane Supervisor on site, your responsibilities will include:

Supervise all lifting operations in accordance with approved lift plans
Ensure cranes, lifting equipment, and accessories are used safely and correctly
Coordinate with crane operators, slinger/signallers, and site management
Conduct pre-lift briefings and ensure all team members understand their roles
Monitor site conditions (weather, ground stability, obstructions) and assess risks
Ensure compliance with local and site regulations as well as company safety procedures
Maintain clear communication via radio and hand signals where required
Stop lifting operations if unsafe conditions arise
Keep accurate records of lifting activities and inspections




Person



To be successful in this Crane Supervisor role, you will need:

Valid CPCS or NPORS Crane Supervisor card (essential)
Proven experience supervising lifting operations on construction sites
Strong knowledge of lifting procedures, risk assessments, and method statements
Good understanding of UK health & safety legislation
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to make quick, safety-critical decisions
Reliable and proactive approach to work


Desirable qualifications:

Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) certification
Experience with a variety of crane types (tower cranes, mobile cranes, etc.)
First Aid or additional site safety training
