The Opportunity

Morson are recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a major highways and civil engineering project on the A1 Blaydon Bridge Scheme in Newcastle upon Tyne.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a high-profile infrastructure project, working alongside an experienced team on a scheme that will enhance one of the regions most important transport routes.

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Supervisor with a strong background in highways, structures, or civil engineering who can drive safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery on site.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day site operations across highways and civil engineering works.
Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant, and resources to ensure efficient delivery.
Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS, specifications, and project requirements.
Monitor progress against programme and report issues, risks, and delays to the Site Agent or Site Manager.
Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship to ensure quality standards are achieved.
Support daily briefings, toolbox talks, permits, and site documentation.
Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Identify and resolve site issues while maintaining programme objectives.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, Highways Supervisor, or Civil Engineering Supervisor.
Strong highways, bridge, structures, or civil engineering experience.
Previous experience working on major infrastructure projects.
Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors.
Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and RAMS.
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Gold CSCS Supervisor Card (or higher).
SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
