About the Role
Lewisham Council is looking for an experienced Health and Work Coach to join the Lewisham Works WorkWell programme.
The role will provide personalised employment, wellbeing and coaching support to Lewisham residents who are managing physical or mental health conditions and need support to return to work, find employment or remain in work.
You will manage your own caseload and work one-to-one with participants through face-to-face, online and telephone appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised employment, wellbeing and employability coaching to WorkWell participants.
- Assess participants’ health, wellbeing and employability needs and develop individual action plans.
- Support residents with CVs, job searching, interview preparation and career guidance.
- Help participants identify appropriate workplace adjustments to support their health needs.
- Provide health and wellbeing guidance and signpost or refer participants to appropriate services.
- Manage an individual caseload and work towards agreed performance targets and service levels.
- Maintain accurate records of participant interactions, progress and outcomes.
- Work closely with primary care, health partners, employers, Jobcentre Plus, colleges and other support services.
- Develop effective referral and partnership relationships to provide joined-up support.
- Represent the Council at relevant meetings and events promoting employment and skills services.
- Support the planning and delivery of employment and wellbeing events.
- Keep up to date with local employment, health and wellbeing services and available support.
About You
You will have experience working directly with individuals facing health, wellbeing and/or employment-related barriers and be confident providing personalised one-to-one support.
You should have:
- Experience managing a caseload of clients/participants.
- Strong knowledge of employment, employability, IAG or coaching services.
- Understanding of how health and wellbeing can affect someone’s ability to gain or retain employment.
- Experience developing personalised support or action plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with partner organisations and making appropriate referrals.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience using systems such as CRM, Teams, SharePoint and Microsoft Office.
- A professional qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance, coaching or an equivalent area.
An employability, health or wellbeing qualification would also be desirable.
