Sociology Lecturer

About the Role

TR2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced A-Level Sociology Lecturer to join a Further Education college.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging A-Level Sociology teaching, prepare learners for examinations and support students to achieve strong academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality A-Level Sociology lessons.
Prepare students for A-Level examinations and assessments.
Cover the relevant Sociology specification and examination requirements.
Develop engaging teaching and learning resources.
Assess learner work and provide effective feedback.
Monitor student progress and put appropriate interventions in place.
Support students with exam preparation and revision.
Promote critical thinking, analysis and evaluation.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental activities.
Support safeguarding, equality, inclusion and college policies.

Requirements

Degree in Sociology or a closely related subject.
Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent.
Proven experience teaching A-Level Sociology.
Strong knowledge of A-Level Sociology curriculum and assessment.
Experience preparing students for A-Level examinations.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to supporting student achievement and progression.
