The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Histopathologist to support the Histology Department in the South East. This locum opportunity offers a structured Monday to Friday working pattern with no on-call commitments and some flexibility for remote working.

The role is ideal for consultants with proven experience independently reporting histopathology cases and looking to contribute to a well-established NHS pathology service. You will work alongside experienced clinical teams, helping to deliver timely and accurate diagnostic services.

• Start Date: ASAP (anticipated from 05/10/2026)
• Duration: Initially 12 Weeks
• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
• On-Calls: None
• Remote Working: Some home working available by agreement
• Pay Method: PAYE

What You'll Be Doing

• Independently report histopathology cases.
• Support the delivery of high-quality diagnostic pathology services.
• Work collaboratively with fellow consultants, biomedical scientists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Contribute to service efficiency and patient care pathways.
• Ensure compliance with NHS standards, governance, and best practice.

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration.
• Consultant-level experience in Histopathology.
• Proven ability to report histopathology cases independently.
• Relevant recent UK NHS experience.
• Excellent diagnostic, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
