About the role
Relationships Change Lives
At The Links Academy, we support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and a range of additional SEND needs, helping them overcome barriers and achieve success both in school and beyond.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and compassionate Pastoral Support Leader to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference to vulnerable children and their families. You will work directly with children, parents, staff and external agencies to improve attendance, engagement, wellbeing and outcomes.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEMH and SEND needs.
- Builds positive relationships quickly and effectively.
- Is proactive, organised and able to use their initiative.
- Can support children through challenges and celebrate their successes.
- Works collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
- Shares our commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and high aspirations for every child.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide pastoral support and mentoring for children.
- Work closely with families to reduce barriers to education.
- Support attendance, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Liaise with social care, health professionals and other agencies.
- Promote the academy's restorative and relational approach.
- Contribute to a positive, nurturing and ambitious culture.
We Offer:
- A welcoming and highly supportive staff team.
- Excellent professional development opportunities.
- Regular supervision and wellbeing support.
- The opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s lives.
- A rewarding role within a specialist SEMH setting.
We reserve the right to appoint at any stage during the recruitment process.
Applicants are required to have numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSE grades 9-4 (A-C). If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be asked to bring your original qualification certificates with you.
We are recognised as a ‘School of Character’ and encourage Responsibility, Respect and Resilience. These are characteristics we expect of all children and staff regardless of their role within the school.
The Links Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We will also require two appropriate references. As part of the recruitment process online checks will be carried out on shortlisted candidates.
