We’re looking for an experienced Production Programmer to join a respected manufacturing business based in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong CAD/CAM and machining experience to play a key part in producing high-quality engineered parts. You’ll be joining a collaborative team where precision, quality and safety are central to everything they do. Location and Working PatternBased on-site in BoltonShop-floor based role with an office on the shop floor4 days per week (Monday to Thursday), 37 hours totalTypical hours: 6:30am – 4:15pm or 7:00am – 4:45pmClient OverviewOur client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing company supplying precision products to critical industries. ResponsibilitiesProgramme CAD/CAM systems, converting 2D and 3D CAD drawings (STP to DXF files) for manufacturing use.Conduct remote programming for press brake and laser cutting machines.Upload accurate data to the MRP system to maintain production flow and ensure schedules are met.Support process optimisation and continuous improvement activities.Assist with product design-for-manufacture, ensuring efficiency and quality.Identify and recommend tools, jigs and fixtures to enhance productivity and safety.Contribute to capital expenditure documentation and project planning.Meet departmental KPI and project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.Must‑have RequirementsWorking knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor).Experience with press brake operating and programming.Understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.Good communication and teamwork skills.Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.Computer literacy.Practical experience within a metal fabrication or parts manufacturing environment.Nice‑to‑have SkillsEngineering or manufacturing qualification (apprenticeship, HNC, HND, etc.).Experience using CADMAN‑B software.Familiarity with Progress Plus MRP systems.Experience working within an ISO 9000 quality management environment.Benefits4-day working pattern25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidaysPension (5% salary sacrifice) and life assuranceCompany sickness scheme and healthcare packageFree fruit, tea, and coffee on-siteProfessional membershipsFree on-site parkingService daysMental health first aiders and occupational health supportFree eye tests and contribution toward glassesApply NowIf you’re ready to bring your programming and manufacturing expertise to a trusted Bolton-based engineering team, apply now to play a hands-on role in delivering precision-engineered products.The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
