Pensions Solicitor | 5+ PQE | Birmingham | Hybrid Working
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pensions Solicitor to join the highly regarded national pensions team of a leading law firm.
With an established pensions presence across several UK offices, the firm is able to offer flexibility around location, making this an attractive opportunity for a pensions lawyer looking for a genuinely national role with a collaborative and supportive team.
This is a broad and varied position, offering exposure to high-quality pensions advisory work, major projects and complex client matters, alongside the opportunity to supervise and support more junior members of the team.
The Role
Working closely with Partners and senior lawyers, you will advise a varied client base on both day-to-day pensions matters and complex projects.
Your work is likely to include:
Ongoing pensions advisory work Advising trustees and corporate sponsors Defined benefit and defined contribution schemes Pensions issues arising from corporate and commercial activity Risk transfer projects Complex pensions projects and restructuring Drafting deeds, agreements and other pensions documentation Advising on the interpretation and application of pensions legislation Supporting clients through complex one-off projects
You will have the opportunity to manage your own workload and develop strong, long-term client relationships, whilst working as part of a genuinely collaborative national team.
There will also be responsibility for supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, helping to develop the wider team and contributing to a positive working culture.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have 5+ years' PQE and a strong background in pensions law.
You will need:
Solid experience advising on occupational pension schemes Experience across both day-to-day advisory matters and more complex projects Strong technical knowledge of pensions law Excellent drafting and analytical skills The ability to manage your own caseload and meet deadlines A commercially focused and client-friendly approach Experience working directly with trustees, corporates or other sophisticated clients The ability and desire to supervise and support more junior colleagues A proactive, self-starting approach
The firm is particularly interested in candidates who enjoy working collaboratively and are keen to be part of a national pensions practice, rather than operating within an isolated office-based team.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded national pensions practice, advising a varied client base including major corporates, pension scheme trustees, public bodies, charities and other organisations.
The team advises on pension schemes ranging from smaller arrangements through to some of the largest and most complex schemes in the UK, providing exposure to high-quality and technically interesting work.
The firm places considerable emphasis on collaboration, flexibility and professional development, with genuine support available at senior level and opportunities to develop your career within a growing national practice.
Flexible and part-time working arrangements will also be considered.
If you are an experienced Pensions Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE and are looking for a role offering quality work, national exposure and genuine flexibility around location and working arrangements, this could be an excellent next move.
