THE OPPORTUNITY

An established and ambitious M&E contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Director to join its senior leadership team and play a key role in the next phase of the company’s growth.

This is not simply an operational Director position. The business is particularly interested in speaking with well-connected individuals who can bring established client relationships, open doors to new opportunities and help significantly grow the company’s turnover and market presence.

For the right individual, there is an opportunity to participate directly in the value they help create through growth shares in the business, alongside a basic salary of £160,000 plus expenses.

The company is an established, multi-disciplinary M&E contractor with almost 20 years of trading history and a strong engineering-led background.

It delivers mechanical, electrical, Design & Build, maintenance and decarbonisation solutions, working across London and the surrounding areas.

Projects span a diverse range of sectors including:

• Commercial & Office

• Residential

• Healthcare

• Leisure

• Retail

• Industrial

• Public Sector

• Refurbishment & Major Plant Replacement

The business has built its reputation around technical excellence, quality delivery and long-standing client relationships, with a strong emphasis on repeat business.

It already has an established management structure, operational capability and delivery team in place. The appointment is therefore about bringing in another senior industry figure who can help take the business to its next level.

THE ROLE

Working alongside the existing Directors, you will have significant influence over the future direction and growth of the company.

A major part of the position will be business development at Director level – utilising your existing network of Main Contractors, Developers, Consultants and end-user clients to generate opportunities and secure new relationships.

You will also be expected to:

• Develop and execute the company’s growth strategy

• Introduce new clients and strengthen existing relationships

• Identify new markets, sectors and revenue opportunities

• Help secure significant M&E projects and frameworks

• Represent the company at senior client and industry level

• Work closely with pre-construction, commercial and operational teams

• Maintain strong relationships from initial opportunity through to project delivery

• Help develop the senior management team as the company expands

• Protect the company’s reputation for quality, service and delivery

• Contribute to board-level commercial and strategic decisions

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are open-minded regarding the exact background of the individual.

You may currently be a Managing Director, Operations Director, MEP Director, Business Development Director, Regional Director or senior industry professional who has reached the point where you want a genuine stake in the growth you create.

Of particular interest will be candidates who have:

• A strong background within the UK M&E / Building Services market

• Established relationships with Main Contractors, Developers, Consultants and/or direct clients

• A demonstrable history of winning and developing significant client accounts

• The credibility to operate at board and client Director level

• A strong understanding of the commercial M&E contracting market

• An entrepreneurial approach and appetite to grow a business

• The ability to turn relationships into sustainable, profitable revenue

This appointment is not restricted to somebody looking for a traditional employed Director role. The company wants to speak with entrepreneurial people who can see the bigger opportunity of helping build the value of the business.
