About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Lead procurement activities for major equipment and long-lead items, including commercial negotiations.
  • Coordinate with internal project teams to ensure regulatory and planning requirements are met.
  • Manage tendering processes and contract negotiations for engineering, procurement, construction, and infrastructure-related scopes.
  • Oversee contractor performance throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Take ownership of project budgets, programmes, and delivery schedules.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reporting to senior management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project management within construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience delivering utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong contract management and commercial negotiation experience, including industry-standard contract frameworks.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction regulations.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, SMSTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience managing EPC contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency with project management and reporting software, including Microsoft Office and similar project-planning tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working directly for an EPC contractor or renewable energy developer.
  • Previous involvement in solar, battery storage, power generation, or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering background.
  • Experience delivering projects from development through to commissioning.

You will be a commercially minded project professional with strong stakeholder management skills and a track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure or renewable energy projects. You will be comfortable managing contractors, budgets, schedules, and project risks while ensuring high standards of safety and delivery performance.
