About the role
Intermediate Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: Tiverton, ON
Work Schedule: 5 days/week on-site
Contract: 1 year
Rate: $45–$60/hour, depending on experience
We are currently looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support maintenance activities at a major nuclear power generation facility in Tiverton.
This is a 1-year contract opportunity, working fully on-site, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment.
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Diagnose mechanical equipment issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Assist with equipment installation, modification, testing, and commissioning as required.
- Follow established maintenance procedures and nuclear safety requirements.
- Complete maintenance documentation and work records accurately.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and other maintenance teams.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or a related industrial environment.
- Mechanical maintenance experience within power generation, nuclear, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or similar environments.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience working with pumps, valves, rotating equipment, piping, or other industrial mechanical systems is an asset.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and procedural compliance.
- Nuclear or power generation experience is considered an asset.
