About the role

About The Role

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, worked across 5 days, including weekend working or 14 hours in Week 1 and 21 hours in Week 2 on a repeating fortnightly rota, including weekend working.

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent with ability for Part Time / Job Share 

Additional Payments: 6.7% Flexibility Payment

Estate Officer - Parks

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals who embody the Our Manchester Values.

As an Estate Officer, your key focus will be maintaining high quality standards and ensuring the parks and green spaces you cover are clean, safe and green. You will play an important role in helping to deliver a positive experience for all visitors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Parks Service and make a real difference to some of Manchester's most valued parks and green spaces. 

The successful candidates will carry out park, play area and building inspections, alongside a range of maintenance tasks, to ensure facilities are clean, safe, welcoming and operating to the required quality standards.

They will be responsible for maintaining the internal and external appearance of buildings and their surrounding areas, undertaking inspections, engaging with residents and park users, reporting any issues that require attention, and seeing identified works through to completion.

Working closely with colleagues across the Parks Service, wider Council departments and external partners, they will be strong communicators who take pride in delivering high standards and creating welcoming environments for visitors.

We are looking for individuals who understand what good quality looks like and are committed to ensuring Manchester's parks and green spaces remain places that people can enjoy with confidence and pride.

About the Candidate

Communication Skills: Demonstrates an understanding of the views of others and communicates in a realistic and practical manner using appropriate language and medium, listens attentively to views and issues of others. Planning and Organisation: Provides work on time and to required standard and is capable of prioritising own workload in order to meet deadlines. Problem Solving and Decision Making: ability to interpret basic rules and guidelines in order to resolve queries. Creative Skills: Ability to find solutions to situations that are presented of a routine nature. Strategic Thinking: Has awareness and generates ideas which contribute to the services or organisational strategy. ICT Skills: Ability to use multiple applications, systems and associated software packages.
