377648 – IT Technician

Work Pattern: Office Based, Monday-Friday 8am -5pm

PAYE Pay Rate: £17.97 per hour

Main Purpose

To provide operational and technical IT support to users across Lincolnshire Police, diagnosing and resolving technical issues across hardware, software, Windows systems, telephony and Airwave services.

Typical Day

• Provide technical support and advice to users across the organisation.
• Manage IT endpoints using Intune, SCCM, Knox and Azure technologies.
• Manage and maintain the Airwave estate using Radio Manager.
• Support Windows operating systems, application testing and security updates.
• Assist with deployment of VOIP, laptops, mobiles, Mobile Data Terminals and hardware.
• Maintain accurate asset registers, technical documentation and knowledge bases.
• Investigate and resolve service requests and technical problems.
• Support IT projects and provide technical expertise.
• Keep users updated on progress of their requests.
• Participate in the IT out-of-hours on-call service.

Essential Requirements

• Experience managing endpoints and software/application installations using tools such as SCCM, Active Directory and Intune.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications.
• Knowledge of WAN/LAN, TCP/IP and Ethernet.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Security Groups and Organisation Units.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working practices.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to achieve the required security clearance.
