Slough, Berkshire Think FE Ltd Technical Tutor – Plumbing Industry applications welcome – especially if you have helped train or mentor apprentices Full Time | Permanent | Berkshire Salary: £41,000 – £44,000 per annum Are you an experienced Plumbing professional looking to move into education, or already working within apprenticeship delivery? Think FE is working with a well-established further education college in Berkshire to recruit a Technical Tutor – Plumbing to support apprentices throughout their programme and help them progress successfully towards End Point Assessment. The role is focused on coaching, mentoring and assessing Plumbing apprentices, working closely with both learners and employers to keep progress on track. The Role You’ll manage a caseload of Plumbing apprentices and support them through their apprenticeship programme, including: Coaching and mentoring apprentices towards Gateway and End Point Assessment. Conducting progress reviews with apprentices and employers every 10–12 weeks. Monitoring skills, knowledge and behaviours against the apprenticeship standard. Tracking off-the-job training and ensuring records remain compliant. Supporting employers to understand their responsibilities throughout the apprenticeship. Using e-portfolios, Microsoft Teams and college systems to record and monitor progress. Working with EPA organisations, curriculum teams and apprenticeship colleagues. Providing additional support where apprentices need it. What do you need? Level 3 Plumbing & Heating qualification or equivalent vocational qualification. Level 2 Maths and English. Strong Plumbing industry knowledge and experience. Experience supporting, training, mentoring or assessing apprentices or learners, desirable.  CAVA/A1 Assessor Award, or willingness to work towards it. Strong organisation and communication skills. Confidence working independently and managing your own caseload. Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital systems. Gas experience and qualifications such as CCN1 and CENWAT would be beneficial, but are not essential for the role. If you are an experienced plumber who has helped train, supervise or mentor apprentices on site, but you haven’t previously worked in FE, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
