Lead Practitioner for Mathematics

The Lead Practitioner will:

•Hold Qualified Teacher Status and have strong academic or professional expertise in Mathematics. •Have recent successful experience of teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4, and be able to demonstrate positive progress of classes taught. •Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with a strong record of securing positive outcomes for students. •Have a strong understanding of curriculum sequencing and progression. •Understand how students develop mathematical fluency, reasoning and problem-solving over time. •Be able to analyse assessment information and translate it into effective classroom and curriculum action. •Have the credibility and interpersonal skills to coach, challenge and support colleagues. •Be able to design and lead high-impact professional development. •Be committed to evidence-informed professional learning. •Have high expectations of achievement, behaviour, attendance and engagement. •Be an excellent communicator and collaborative leader. •Demonstrate the ambition, resilience and drive required to lead improvement. •Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. •Influence practice beyond their own classroom by modelling excellent teaching, coaching and developing colleagues. •Support the delivery of a challenging, engaging and highly effective Mathematics curriculum for every student. •Help establish consistently high expectations for teaching, learning and student achievement across the department. •Develop a culture in which students are encouraged to Think, Solve, Explore and Achieve. •Champion Ferryhill School’s values of Integrity, Creativity and Excellence and contribute to our ambition for all students to become their Best Selves and embrace Bold Futures.
