Overview

Atkins Search are currently recruiting for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join an exceptional Construction Consultancy based in Manchester with hybrid working available and the opportunity to work on exciting multi-million pound schemes both locally and nationally, with exposure to a variety of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, and Local Authorities, to name a few!

My client is an experienced construction consultancy with their primary focus being cost management, safety, and regulatory compliance. My client can offer an experienced chartered Quantity Surveyor a diverse workload including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, and Local Authority, as well as a chance to progress in a well-established and expanding team, who prioritise responsiveness and transparency, with a commitment to adapting and communicating as their clients’ needs change.

Role

As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the full range of traditional Quantity Surveying duties working on multi-million pound projects with a strong focus on measurement, Bills of Quantities, and schedules of work. This role will suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who has experience working on a variety of projects within the built environment. You’ll work within a close-knit team delivering accurate and timely outputs.

Responsibilities

As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include:

Lead QS duties on projects from inception to completion
Prepare and manage detailed estimates, BQs, schedules of work, and tender/contract documents
Provide cost advice, budget reporting, and contractual guidance
Attend design/progress meetings; liaise with clients and contractors
Promote compliance with QA systems and company procedures
Mentor junior staff and support business development activities
Maintain strong client relationships and identify repeat work opportunities
Requirements

The successful Chartered Quantity Surveyor will be aligned with the above job description in addition to:

Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction related degree
Member of Royal Institute of Surveyors (MRICS)
2/3+ years’ post chartered experience in a Quantity Surveying role working on new build and refurbishments projects.
Proven ability to produce accurate measured Bills of quantities and estimates.
Strong knowledge of UK construction methods, procurement, and JCT contracts.
Proficient in digital measurement tools and MS Office.
Confident, detail-oriented, and commercially focused with excellent communication skills.
