Desk Support Analyst

Nottingham, UK SF Partners Desktop Support Analyst Salary: £28,000-£34,000 Nottingham Permanent | Full-time We're recruiting a Desktop Support Analyst to join an established internal IT team, providing technical support across a multi-site organisation. This is a broader role than traditional first-line support. Alongside resolving desktop, hardware and software issues, you'll get hands-on involvement in IT security, vulnerability remediation, device management and application deployment. A key part of the role will be working with Microsoft Defender, so we're looking for someone who has practical experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities rather than simply escalating them. Experience with Microsoft Intune and application packaging would also be particularly useful. The role You'll be responsible for: - Providing technical support across desktop and mobile devices - Troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system and connectivity issues - Configuring, deploying and installing hardware and software - Using Microsoft Defender to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities - Supporting IT security and responding appropriately to security issues - Supporting device management and deployment through Microsoft Intune - Packaging and deploying applications - Supporting IT projects across the desktop and wider IT environment - Testing and evaluating new hardware and software - Providing users with guidance and support on systems and applications - Working with third-party suppliers to resolve technical issues - Supporting users across multiple locations when required What we're looking for: We're looking for someone who has developed beyond a straightforward first-line support position and can demonstrate stronger hands-on technical experience. You'll ideally have: - Hands-on Microsoft Defender experience, including vulnerability remediation - Good desktop support experience across laptops, desktops and mobile devices - Strong Microsoft 365 / Office 365 knowledge - Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues - A good understanding of IT security - The ability to investigate and resolve technical issues independently - Experience supporting users across If this role is of interest, please get in touch today
