OFTO Contract Support

Scottish Power Renewables are looking for an OFTO Contract Support to join their EA1N project, based in either London or Glasgow.

Position Title: Offshore Transmissions Owners Contract Support
Business: Scottish Power Renewables - EA1N
Location: London or Glasgow/hybrid style working
Duration: Initial contract until 31st Dec 2027
Hours: Full time, Mon - Fri
Rate: Inside IR35, PAYE and Umbrella options available

Main Purpose of Job

• Work in the context of the pre-FID phase of East Anglia ONE North offshore windfarm project, within Scottish Power Renewables (SPR), part of Iberdrola Group.
• Belong to a team of 7 Contract Managers reporting to the Project Contracts & Commercial Manager.
• The OFTO Contract Support will provide commercial and contract management support to the work packages to be finally divested to the offshore transmission
• owner (“OFTO”), including offshore substation, main electrical equipment, onshore substation and export cables.
• Work together with the contract managers leading the OFTO packages ensuring negotiation and delivery of contracts in line with the business strategy.

Key Tasks

• Negotiate OFTO-related contracts towards UK CfD Allocation Round 8, in collaboration with Procurement department and other business and corporate functions (technical department, legal, tax & finance dept., etc)
• Perform contract management activities of already signed OFTO contracts being executed under Limited Notice to proceed until EA1N project obtains FID, such as management of payments and invoices, responding to early warning notices, managing variations and claims, drafting contractual correspondence, liaising with the “Engineer” appointed under FIDIC contracts, etc.
• Keeping contract and commercial tracker updated.
• Manage interfaces between OFTO packages in accordance with the contract.
• Provide contractual assistance in relation to smaller OFTO-related contracts, besides the main OFTO packages.
• Anticipate contractual and commercial risks, opportunities and threats to the project and implement control measures or actions during the contract negotiation and execution.
• Coordinate all legal and procurement activities for the project area. 
• Report to Project Contracts & Commercial Manager.

Key Criteria

• Degree and professional qualification in relevant engineering discipline, law or commercially orientated qualification.
• Proven contract/ commercial negotiation skills.
• Substantial experience in the offshore industry, particularly in the execution of large EPC projects.
• IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software.
• Flexible to travel around Europe.
• Proven track record delivering complex multi-discipline projects.
