The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Chemical Pathologist to support a service in the East of England.

This opportunity offers an initial 3-month locum contract, with the potential for extension. The role is available on a full-time basis, although part-time applicants will also be considered.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of Chemical Pathology services and will be responsible for the management of the Lipidology Outpatient Service. The position is expected to comprise approximately five clinical sessions per week, working alongside established multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care and specialist clinical expertise.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver expert Consultant-level Chemical Pathology services
• Lead and manage the Lipidology Outpatient Service
• Provide specialist clinical advice to colleagues across the Trust
• Support the diagnosis, investigation, and management of patients with lipid disorders and related conditions
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, laboratory, and allied health professional colleagues
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
• Ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care at all times

What We're Looking For

• GMC registration with a licence to practise
• GMC Specialist Registration in Chemical Pathology, or eligibility for entry
• Experience managing Lipidology services and outpatient clinics
• Recent NHS experience at Consultant level
• Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary team-working skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting wider service objectives
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
