SENDCO

At Ancaster Church of England Primary school, we are looking for an inspirational and dedicated SEND professional who is passionate about ensuring every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. You will have a proven track record of leading high-quality SEND provision, a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to secure the very best outcomes for young people. An excellent communicator and relationship builder, you will be committed to promoting inclusion, raising aspirations and removing barriers to learning. Above all, you will share our high expectations for every student and have the drive, resilience and determination to make a lasting difference to the lives of our learners.

The SENDCO, under the direction of the Headteacher, will:

• Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school
• Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents, and other agencies

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree.
• Relevant SEND qualification or working towards
• Recent teaching experience with a strong track record of securing excellent outcomes for students with SEND.
• Experience analysing national, local and school-level data to inform strategy and improve outcomes for students with SEND.
• Experience supporting, challenging and developing teachers and support staff to strengthen inclusive practice and pedagogy.
• Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies and SEMH support to help pupils thrive both academically and personally.
