SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Are you organised, practical, and passionate about supporting science education?

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our successful Science Department at Hampton College.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning by preparing resources and equipment for practical lessons, maintaining laboratories, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students and staff.

In this role you will be:

• Preparing materials, equipment and apparatus for practical science lessons.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensure laboratories are kept clean, organised and safe.
• Monitoring and maintain stock levels of scientific materials and equipment.
• Supporting the preparation of teaching resources.
• Working closely with teaching staff and the Senior Science Technician to support the smooth running of the department.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Maths.
• Possesses excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills.
• Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Is adaptable, proactive and willing to learn new skills.

Experience working within a school environment, A-Level qualifications in science subjects, a degree-level qualification, or a specialist in Physics would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.

Working Hours:

This is a permanent position between 30 - 37 hours per week, term time only.

Please note that exact working hours can be flexible, in discussion with the successful candidate.

Salary

Technician (Grade 4)

Full-time salary (52 weeks) from £25,614 to £26,427 per annum

Term-time salary (based on 37 hrs per week/term time only) from £21,372 to £22,050 per annum
