Personal Development Centre (PDC) Coordinator - Pastoral Support

This role is designed for a resilient and empathetic leader committed to raising aspirations and meticulously managing tailored intervention strategies to reintegrate students successfully back into the mainstream curriculum.

Responsibilities

You will manage the Personal Development Centre (PDC), planning, organising, and delivering a range of opportunities focused on promoting positive discipline, raising aspirations, and addressing students' social, emotional, and mental health needs. This includes providing guided teaching, monitoring and adapting student timetables, and working collaboratively with the Inclusion Team to implement appropriate intervention strategies.

You will conduct one-to-one or small group sessions, monitor the impact of the provision, and undertake lesson visits and academic mentoring for students who are reintegrating into lessons.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have experience working in a school environment and significant knowledge of the issues affecting students and young people, knowing how to offer supportive assistance. Essential skills include effective communication, proficient use of standard ICT packages (including Microsoft Office), and the ability to manage competing deadlines while working well under pressure.

Experience working with students who have additional Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is desirable. Must also be able to relate sympathetically to students and identify potential safeguarding issues.
