Catering Assistant (Maternity Cover)

The Catering Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the school catering service by assisting with the preparation, cooking and serving of food under the direction of the Kitchen Manager. The role is responsible for maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, cleanliness and compliance with relevant regulations, while helping to create a welcoming dining environment for students. Duties include operating kitchen equipment, cleaning kitchen and dining areas, replenishing consumables, and supporting the setup of dining facilities as required. The post holder also promotes healthy eating habits, contributes to students' wellbeing, and works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an efficient and positive dining experience. A strong commitment to safeguarding, teamwork, customer service and ongoing professional development is essential.
