We are looking for a Cover Supervisor who is confident, adaptable and committed to supporting students’ learning and wellbeing. The successful candidate will supervise classes in the absence of teachers, maintain a positive learning environment, manage behaviour effectively, and build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider academy community.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervising pupils undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy’s policy, under the guidance of teaching/senior staff.
• Establishing productive working relationships with students, promoting positive values/attitudes and setting high expectations
• Monitoring and evaluation of students’ responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievement and providing feedback/reports as required
• Encourage students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all students in activities
• Effective use of ICT to support learning activities and develop students’ competence and independent use.

Pay range:

SCP 17 - 20 £28,185.21 - £29,616.20 (FTE: £32,046.00 - £33,673.00)

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:

• Qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA or equivalent
• GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
• Relevant experience supervising children in a school setting
• Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
• Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
