KS2 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, Long-term

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term 

We are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Knowsley seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

The role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, particularly through targeted interventions and in-class learning support, helping children to make strong academic progress and reach their full potential.

The Role 

– Providing classroom support to pupils across Key Stage 2

– Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions in areas such as English, Reading, Phonics and Maths.

– Supporting pupils who may require additional academic support to close learning gaps

– Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers

– Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence in learning

– Assisting the class teacher in creating a positive and productive learning environment

– Supporting pupils with varying abilities and learning needs

The Ideal Candidate:

– Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2

– Experience delivering interventions or supporting children’s academic progress

– Strong literacy and numeracy skills

– A patient, proactive, and supportive approach

– Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

– Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential

– Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
