SHEQ Advisor – Wax on, Wax off – career on

SHEQ Advisor – Wax on, Wax off – career on

Ever feel like your career’s stuck in the dojo, endlessly sweeping the floor but never learning the kick?

Wonder if there’s actually a company out there that values stability over chaos, culture over lip service, and real career progression over empty promises?

Good news — you’ve just found one.

Who we are

We’re a groundworks contractor with both feet firmly planted — financially solid, reputation strong, and growth plans already well underway. No smoke and mirrors, no “jam tomorrow.” Just a healthy order book, long-term clients, and the ambition to keep building. Expansion is happening now, which means opportunity for the right people to step in and step up.

The role

We’re looking for a SHEQ Advisor to join our ranks. You’ll be out on live sites, supporting teams, raising standards and making sure safety, health, environment and quality aren’t just tick-box words but lived values.

Here’s the twist: you won’t be thrown in to sink or swim. You’ll have a SHEQ Manager who’s been round the block, knows the pitfalls, and actually enjoys mentoring. Think of them as your Mr Miyagi — guiding, challenging, sharpening your skills, and showing you how all the little things add up to the big wins.

The role will be based in Wiltshire with visits to sites in the Wiltshire and Bristol areas.

Yes, you’ll do the reports, the audits, the paperwork — that’s the “wax on, wax off” part. But you’ll also be shaping culture, influencing decisions, and getting exposure to projects that push you forward.

Why join us?

• Career progression that’s mapped and structured, not mumbled then forgotten about – clear routes upward, whether you want to manage teams or specialise deeper in SHEQ.

• Stability you can bank on – financially sound, long pipeline, no panic phone calls about “cash flow. or materials being on stop”

• Mentoring that actually means something – one-to-one support from an experienced SHEQ leader who’ll back your development and get you to the next level – he’s done it for lots of others.

• Culture that sticks – no box-ticking, just a shared drive to do things properly.

• Growth & expansion – new projects, bigger responsibilities, and the chance to prove yourself.

What we’re after

You’ve already got some SHEQ experience in civils, construction or groundworks. You know the regs, you’re comfortable talking to site teams, and you can spot a risk before it bites. More importantly, you’ve got ambition. You don’t just want to keep the clipboard warm — you want to develop, grow, and eventually lead.

The package

Competitive salary, car or allowance, pension, benefits — plus the real kicker: joining a company where career moves are more crane kick than side shuffle.

So… do you want to keep polishing floors in a place that goes nowhere, or do you want a mentor, a pathway, and the stability to actually build something? If it’s the latter, this is your moment. Wax on. Wax off. Career on.

Don’t worry if you haven’t got an up-to-date CV it’s not important for now. Everyone who gets in touch will get a response.
