Zest Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Resource Base Teaching Assistant to join the Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision within a welcoming primary school in Dudley.

The successful Resource Base Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils requiring additional support, delivering tailored interventions and assisting with both academic and social development.

About the Resource Base Teaching Assistant Role

As a Resource Base Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted support.
• Assist with implementing Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Resource Base Teaching Assistant Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Recent and relevant UK-based school experience.
• Experience supporting children on a one-to-one basis or within small groups.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, adaptable, and caring approach.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
• Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, or learning disabilities.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualifications.
