£12.71 (+£2.11 holiday pay) per hour - £14.82 per hour total.

Part time hours to be agreed during exam times (public and internal examinations) - casual contract.

Required November 2026.

At Belfairs Academy, we are looking for Exam Scribes/Readers to support students who require assistance during examinations. The role involves:

• Reading examination questions and instructions aloud clearly and accurately, as permitted by the candidate’s access arrangements.

• Writing or typing candidates’ dictated answers accurately, without changing their meaning.

• Supporting candidates calmly and patiently, without prompting or helping them to answer questions.

• Ensuring candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities.

• Maintaining confidentiality and following examination regulations and the instructions of the Exams Officer.

  Previous experience as an Exam Scribe/Reader is not required, as full training will be provided. Applicants should have strong literacy and communication skills, attention to detail and a patient, supportive approach.
