SEN BASE - Lead Teacher - 2 roles

Pokesdown Community Primary School has 2 exciting roles available. We are looking for 2 specialist and experienced teachers who have experience of working with children with ASD and other SEND needs to lead our new Resource Bases. This is a great opportunity to join our friendly, forward thinking and innovative school and help us grow further.

We are setting up 2 Resource Bases – 1 for KS1 and 1 for KS2.

Each base will be for 8 children with EHCPs with a profile of ASD and general learning difficulties, with a small team of adults to support their needs. Each base leader will work closely with the Headteacher, line manage your team and help develop our vision further as we work towards the children in the base benefitting from specialised support within our mainstream school.

As Base Leader, you will work alongside colleagues to create and deliver a curriculum that embodies our integrated and adaptive approach. You will oversee assessments and annual reviews for pupils within your base and build strong partnerships with external professionals to ensure every child is empowered to make the best possible progress and achieve success within our setting.

The role will enable you to share your energy, knowledge and passion with different children, families and staff – both in the base and within the wider school community.

The role is full time, although we would consider job shares applying for the role. Working alongside other colleagues, you will need to be an excellent practitioner, be flexible, adaptable and enjoy working with others.

We are looking at the base opening in January and would hope that there may be some possibility of working some days prior to this.
