Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Zest Education are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sutton Coldfield on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout Year 6, helping them develop their confidence, independence and academic progress as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

The role will include:

• Supporting pupils across the Year 6 curriculum
• Providing one-to-one and small-group intervention
• Supporting pupils with English and Maths
• Helping children stay engaged, focused and motivated
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and resources
• Supporting pupils with different abilities and individual learning needs
• Helping to create a positive and encouraging classroom environment

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children in a classroom-based setting
• Is confident supporting pupils at Key Stage 2 level
• Has strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Is patient, positive and approachable
• Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Is reliable and works well as part of a team
• Ideally holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, although qualifications are preferred rather than essential
