Hours: 42 hours minimum per week, scheduled by shift weekly. Includes a rotational weekend schedule with two other engineers during the peak summer period (May to August).
Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Engineer to provide planned engineering, breakdown repair, and maintenance support for our production, packaging, and control equipment. You will ensure a safe, efficient, and hygienic working environment while maintaining site security and upholding strict BRC food safety systems.

Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Engineer to provide planned engineering, breakdown repair, and maintenance support for our production, packaging, and control equipment. You will ensure a safe, efficient, and hygienic working environment while maintaining site security and upholding strict BRC food safety systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled tasks within the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and utilize in-house reporting systems.
- React quickly to emergency breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and perform efficient repairs.
- Prioritize health, safety, and hygiene best practices, ensuring full compliance with standards and reporting any hazards.
- Maintain and repair various equipment, including ice packaging machinery (pumps, motors, augers, hydraulics, metal detectors), air compressors, basic plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Handle administrative duties such as maintenance checklists, critical control point (CCP) sheets, purchase orders, and handovers.
- Good understanding of English for safety and communication purposes.
- Preferred: 18th Edition electrical safety qualification or part qualification.
- Basic IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Physical fitness and capability for a fast-paced environment, manual handling, and frequent stair use.
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking capabilities.
