About the role

Senior Administration Officer

Job description

Our vision at St Mary’s CE Primary School is to provide the highest quality education for every child, enabling them to fulfil their potential in a safe & friendly school community underpinned by Christian values and to develop as confident, articulate and happy individuals who will love learning throughout their lives.

We are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated, friendly, and efficient Senior Administration Officer to join our large, inclusive, and successful primary school in Beverley.

The Senior Administration Officer will lead and manage the clerical team, ensuring the school office operates efficiently and effectively. The role provides key administrative support to the school and Senior Leadership Team, while working closely with the School Business Manager to support financial systems and ensure procedures are followed. The successful candidate will also oversee the production of key reports and data for the Senior Leadership Team and Governors, coordinate pupil assessment and reporting processes, and liaise effectively with parents, staff, the Local Authority and external agencies. We are looking for an organised, proactive and professional individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to providing a high-quality administrative service.

This is a varied and fulfilling role. Candidates must be enthusiastic, flexible, approachable and hard working. They will advise on and implement the day-to-day support that enables the school to operate effectively and efficiently, and that allows other members of the leadership team to focus on teaching and learning.

Successful candidates will be supportive of the Christian ethos of the School and promote and uphold the values of the school in all that they do.

Please note the school takes the safeguarding and welfare of children very seriously, so references for shortlisted candidates will be requested prior to interview. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The school will carry out an online search as part of their due-diligence for all shortlisted candidates in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 (para 225).

The successful candidate will be able to fulfil the attached job description, and meet the essential elements of the employee specification.
