The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant in General Internal Medicine to support a service in the South West.

This locum opportunity offers a 12-week contract within an established Acute Physician service, providing a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams in a busy NHS hospital environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality acute and general medical care while supporting service delivery across the department.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver high-quality patient care across the General Internal Medicine service.
• Manage acute medical admissions and complex inpatient cases.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Support efficient patient flow and service delivery within the Acute Physician team.
• Participate in clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NHS standards.
• Ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care at all times.

What We're Looking For

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Specialist Register status in General Internal Medicine or equivalent eligibility.
• Recent NHS experience at Consultant level.
• Excellent clinical judgement and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
