The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Dermatologist with Skin Surgery experience to a service in the East Midlands.

This full-time locum opportunity runs from ASAP tfor 3 months, offering a consistent Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 working pattern across a well-established NHS service.

The post comprises 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) and includes a combination of minor skin surgery theatre lists and Two Week Wait (2WW) clinics. The successful candidate will work across 2 sites supporting service delivery within the Dermatology department.

This role would suit an experienced consultant who is confident managing skin cancer pathways, performing minor skin surgery procedures, and working flexibly within a dynamic service.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver consultant-led Dermatology care within outpatient and procedural settings
• Undertake minor skin surgery theatre sessions
• Conduct Two Week Wait (2WW) skin cancer clinics
• Support timely assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple hospital sites
• Contribute to safe, effective and efficient service delivery
• Participate in allocated administrative activities relating to clinical workload

What We're Looking For

• GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Specialist Register status in Dermatology
• Recent NHS Consultant Dermatology experience
• Experience undertaking minor skin surgery procedures
• Ability to independently manage skin cancer and dermatology outpatient pathways
• Full UK driving licence and access to transport for travel between2 sites
• Strong communication, leadership and clinical decision-making skills
• Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)

Additional Information

The job plan will remain flexible throughout the placement. Theatre lists, clinic sessions and supporting administration time will be scheduled according to service demand and capacity. As a result, a fixed weekly timetable cannot be provided in advance.
