The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Community Paediatrician to support a service in the West Midlands.

This is a full-time locum opportunity (1.0 WTE / 10 PAs) commencing in November 2026, offering a flexible working arrangement across multiple sites depending on service need and clinic availability. Clinical sessions can be condensed into Wednesday to Friday, providing additional flexibility.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team, supporting children and young people with developmental, neurodevelopmental and disability-related conditions while contributing to high-quality community paediatric services.

  • Working Pattern: Clinics may be condensed into Wednesday-Friday

Responsibilities

  • Providing consultant-led assessment, diagnosis and management of children with developmental, neurodevelopmental and disability-related conditions
  • Supporting Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment pathways for children aged 0-5 years
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team discussions and delivering assessment outcomes to parents and carers, including remote consultations where appropriate
  • Completing Initial Health Assessments
  • Undertaking EHCP/ECHNA triage and report completion
  • Working collaboratively with community teams and wider healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and contributing to service development

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise
  • Specialist Registration in Paediatrics or equivalent relevant experience
  • Recent UK Community Paediatrics experience
  • Experience managing developmental and neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Knowledge of EHCP/ECHNA processes
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary team working skills
  • Right to work in the UK
