Personal Care Assistant

We are looking for a Personal Care Assistant to join our dedicated team supporting pupils within our Connect One pathway. This role is ideal for someone who is caring, patient and committed to helping children with additional needs develop their independence, wellbeing and daily living skills.

At Pegasus, Personal Care Assistants play a vital role in ensuring pupils feel safe, comfortable and valued throughout the school day. Working closely with teaching and therapy teams, you will support pupils with personal care routines, health and wellbeing needs, and help them access learning opportunities while promoting dignity and independence at all times.

What you'll do:

• Provide high-quality personal care support, including toileting, nappy changing and hygiene routines where required

• Promote pupils' independence by encouraging self-care, communication and daily living skills

• Build positive, trusting relationships that help children feel secure and supported

• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs

• Support pupils to access learning and participate fully in school life

• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues regarding pupil wellbeing and progress

• Help create a safe, positive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive

Who you are:

• A kind, patient and reliable individual who understands the importance of dignity and respectful care

• Experienced in supporting children or young people with additional needs, including those who are pre-verbal

• Comfortable supporting personal care routines

• Able to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with pupils, families and colleagues

• Calm, resilient and able to respond sensitively to a range of needs and situations

• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people

• Passionate about helping pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills
