Pastoral Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an outstanding Pastoral Manager to lead and support the personal, social and emotional development of students within designated year groups. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance, welfare and wellbeing, ensuring that every student is able to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the pastoral provision for designated year groups.
Promote excellent attendance, punctuality, behaviour and student welfare.
Manage and support a team of form tutors.
Monitor student progress and coordinate appropriate interventions.
Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies.
Investigate and respond to behaviour and wellbeing concerns.
Lead assemblies, rewards initiatives and personal development activities.
Maintain accurate records and reports using academy systems.

What We Are Looking For

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, experience of working effectively with young people, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student success. You will be confident building relationships with students, families, colleagues and external professionals and able to remain calm under pressure.

Essential Criteria

5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
Good ICT skills.
Ability to write reports and communicate effectively.
Understanding of behaviour management and child protection procedures.
Strong organisational and teamwork skills.
Commitment to equality, safeguarding and professional development.
Ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role confidently in English.

Desirable Criteria

Undergraduate degree in any discipline.
Experience supporting children with SEND and additional needs.
Good understanding of curriculum, literacy and numeracy strategies.
