Service Driver – Aldridge, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Service Driver to join our well-established client based in Aldridge, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression within a successful and expanding business.

This would suit applicants who have worked as a 3.5 Tonne Driver, Delivery Driver or Multi-Drop Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £12.71 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Rota-based shifts, including weekend working – 5 days out of 7
• 08:00 – 16:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Service Driver are:

• Swapping out equipment on client sites
• Servicing equipment on client sites
• Carrying out general yard duties
• Operating and driving 3.5-tonne vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secure before transport
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and company procedures
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Service Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category B driving licence
• A minimum of 12 months’ experience driving Category B vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsements
• Good knowledge of the UK road network
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and time management skills
• A strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
• Effective communication skills
• The ability to provide excellent customer service

Training:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
