Home School Link Worker (HSLW)

The Knaphill Schools are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, compassionate, flexible and self-motivated Home School Link Worker (HSLW) to support our children and families. This is a vital role, working closely with children, families, school colleagues and external professionals to ensure every child is safe, supported and able to thrive.

The successful candidate will work with the children and their families to identifying and address barriers to learning, support children's wellbeing and promoted positive engagement in their education. A key aspect of the role will be working to improve and maintain regular school attendance, ensuring children receive the support they need to achieve their fully potential.

Based in the Knaphill Infant School & Nursery, the HSLW will play a central role within the school's pastoral and safeguarding provision.

An important part of this role is undertaking the responsibilities of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL). Working alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead, class teachers and the wider pastoral team, the successful candidate will help ensure that children are safe, supported and able to thrive. They will contribute to maintaining effective safeguarding practices in line with policies statutory guidance and Keeping Children Safe in Education.

In addition, the successful candidate will provide classroom cover during teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time, supporting learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
