At Lanark Close Short Breaks Service, we support adults with learning disabilities living in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees. Every day, our team helps people develop confidence, build independence and enjoy life to the fullest.

We're  looking for a caring and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our friendly team to cover a period of Maternity Leave.

What you'll be doing
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals to achieve their goals and maintain their independence.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting with personal care in a dignified and respectful manner
  • Encouraging and developing daily living skills
  • Promoting independence, confidence and wellbeing
  • Supporting social activities, hobbies and community involvement
  • Building positive relationships and providing person-centred support

What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll have:
  • Professional knowledge and experience of working in a care or caring setting and / or NVQ Level 2 in Adult Social Care or equivalent (desirable)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Empathy, patience and a positive attitude
  • A passion for supporting others to achieve their potential
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality care and support

Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role.

This is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The post is expected to last for an initial period of 6 months, with the potential to extend up to 12 months. The duration of the contract will be reviewed periodically and discussed with the successful candidate.

Working Pattern
This role is part time, 28 hours per week over 3 days including 2 out of 3 weekends and various shifts.

The actual salary for the role is £19,687 - £20,316.
