Ready to lead a major finance-systems transformation and deliver lasting operational change?

I’m recruiting on behalf of a confidential client for a senior, hands-on Interim Head of Transformation to lead the selection, design, testing and implementation of a new integrated business and finance platform.

This is a high-profile 15- 18-month assignment for an experienced transformation professional who can combine strong programme leadership with practical expertise in finance systems, data migration and operational delivery. You will work with finance, operational and senior leadership teams to replace legacy technology with a platform that supports the organisation’s future reporting, control and business requirements.

The role

You will take ownership of the end-to-end transformation programme – from system selection through to implementation, training, migration and go-live.

You will translate business requirements into a clear system design and delivery plan, ensuring the chosen solution supports financial management, operational workflows and effective decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation and selection of an integrated business and finance platform
• Define business, functional, technical and operational requirements with key stakeholders
• Lead the design of financial processes, system functionality and workflows
• Coordinate system configuration, build and implementation with internal teams and external suppliers
• Establish programme governance, maintain the delivery plan and manage risks, dependencies and milestones
• Oversee data cleansing, preparation and migration from legacy systems
• Plan and coordinate testing to ensure functional, control and operational requirements are met
• Manage training, cutover and transition activity to support a successful go-live
• Provide clear progress reporting, recommendations and decision papers to senior leadership

About you

• A qualified accountant or experienced transformation/project professional with a strong track record of implementing finance, ERP or enterprise systems
• Experience leading complex system-selection and implementation programmes through to go-live
• Comfortable working across finance, operations and technology, translating requirements into practical delivery plans
• Strong programme-management, stakeholder-engagement and supplier-management skills
• Highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple workstreams to demanding deadlines
• Confident engaging with senior leaders while working effectively in a close-knit internal team
