About the role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

We are seeking to appoint an Alternative Provision Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of alternative provision across the Academy, as well as supporting where required with the Academy’s attendance function.

This is an exciting and dynamic role, where every day is different. The role would suit an individual who has a positive attitude and the ability to embrace change. The role will involve working with stakeholders at all levels, including external alternative provision providers and agencies, completing quality assurance visits to ensure suitability and effectiveness of placements.

This is an evolving role and as the needs of the Academy and its students continues to grow and evolve, the responsibilities and scope of this role are likely to develop over time, so flexibility and a willingness to adapt will be key. The successful candidate will play an important role in the further development of alternative provision within the Academy.

We are seeking to appoint a full-time post holder for this position, where the working pattern would be Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm, working term-time plus one week (39 working weeks per year). Nevertheless, we are open to discussing part-time working arrangements with suitably qualified candidates who can demonstrate how they would meet the requirements of the role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a high level of IT competence, including the use of Microsoft programmes e.g. Word/Outlook/Excel.
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Is positive and enthusiastic
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Has strong organisational skills and is able to manage their own workload
  • Is able to relate well to young people
  • Is flexible in their approach to the requirements of the post

Please see the attached job description and person specification for more information.
