Assistant Director of Sixth Form

Ossett Academy are seeking to appoint a visionary, strategic, and dynamic Assistant Director of Sixth Form to join our successful Post 16 team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner and leader who is passionate about raising aspirations, driving student achievement, and securing outstanding progression outcomes for all learners.

The Assistant Director of Sixth Form will play a pivotal role in shaping and developing our Sixth Form provision, fostering a culture of ambition, and ensuring students are fully prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the future. Working closely with senior leaders, they will provide leadership for the Post 16 provision, modelling the highest professional standards and contributing to the strategic development of the Sixth Form.

A key responsibility of the role will be to lead and enhance progression opportunities for all students. The postholder will be accountable for securing positive and sustained progression outcomes, ensuring every learner is supported to successfully transition into higher education, apprenticeships, employment, or further training pathways that align with their individual aspirations and ambitions.

The ideal candidate will also oversee and further develop robust transition processes from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. This will involve ensuring that prospective students are guided towards the most appropriate courses and pathways, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future.
