Sustainability Consultant / Senior Sustainability Consultant

Location: London
Working pattern: Full-time, permanent | Hybrid, with at least three days a week in the office
Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience, plus benefits

Zest4Talent is working with an award-winning sustainability consultancy to recruit a Sustainability Consultant or Senior Sustainability Consultant for its London team.

This role offers the chance to work on built-environment projects spanning whole life carbon, circular economy, BREEAM, net zero and sustainability planning. You’ll work with clients and project teams to turn technical analysis into practical recommendations.

The role

Depending on your experience, you will:

• Carry out whole life carbon modelling and assessments.
• Develop circular economy strategies and prepare supporting statements.
• Produce sustainability statements and other planning-related reports.
• Coordinate BREEAM pre-assessments, workshops and certification.
• Manage smaller projects or take responsibility for parts of larger projects.
• Advise clients and collaborate with designers, consultants and other specialists.

About you

You’ll have experience in sustainability within the built environment, whether gained in consultancy, engineering, architecture or a related field. We’re particularly interested in people with knowledge of whole life carbon, circular economy principles, BREEAM and sustainability planning.

As a guide, the Consultant level would suit someone with around three to five years’ relevant experience. Applicants with five or more years’ experience may be considered at Senior Consultant level, depending on their skills and project experience.

Strong communication, client management and project coordination skills will help you succeed. Knowledge of NABERS, the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard or Passivhaus, or a relevant accreditation such as BREEAM Assessor or AP, would be an advantage.
