Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a caring, proactive and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a supportive and inclusive school environment. The role will involve providing classroom support, delivering targeted interventions and working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure every student can succeed.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEND across the school. Working under the direction of the SEND Coordinator, you will provide in-class support, deliver one-to-one and small group interventions, and contribute to the development of effective support strategies that promote independence, confidence and progress.

This position is contracted on a 32.5 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so.

Job Purpose 

• Support identified students within the classroom environment, within small group situations. 
• Work with teachers to enhance student progress, whilst also promoting their independence, self esteem and social inclusion. 

Key Skills & Experience

• Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
• Experience working in a school environment would be advantageous.
• Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role.
