Student Focus Centre Manager

We are seeking a proactive, highly flexible and committed Student Focus Centre Manager to join our team. Working closely with the Wellbeing Practitioners, this role plays a vital part in ensuring all students feel safe and supported at school.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of working with young people with emotional, mental health or behavioural needs, who wants to make a meaningful difference to young people’s lives.

Under the direction of the Leadership Team, you will manage the Student Focus Centre (SFC), including the team of Wellbeing Practitioners. You will take a lead role in ensuring the wellbeing of the students in the school by providing specific, targeted support to students, who are struggling with their emotional wellbeing or behaviour.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the Student Focus Centre (SFC) and ensuring the processes and practices are in line with the school’s vision and values.

Managing the team of Wellbeing Practitioners.

Managing the student referral process and allocation of support programmes.

Leading on behaviour support, including the creation, delivery and evaluation of the impact of intervention programmes, including anger management and conflict resolution.

Organising the supervision of students in intervention.

Working collaboratively with, and supporting, students, parents & carers, staff and external agency professionals.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Is able to lead a team effectively.

Has previous experience of working with young people with emotional, mental health or behavioural needs.

Is proactive, flexible and able to adapt to ever-changing circumstances.

Is highly organised, detail-oriented and able to juggle competing priorities.

Communicates confidently and professionally with students, parents and carers, colleagues and external professionals.

Can work independently, use initiative and remain calm under pressure.

Experience within a school environment, or knowledge of safeguarding, would be an advantage, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
