Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant - Secondary & FE College

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Pay Rate: £95.00 per day (PAYE / Weekly Pay)

Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time (Long-Term & Term-Time available)

About the Role

Are you looking for a rewarding role in education where you can directly impact young people's lives? Randstad Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work with dynamic Secondary Schools, Specialist Colleges, and FE provisions across Chelmsford.

You will support teenagers and young adults aged 11-19+ with diverse learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and physical/complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide structured 1:1 and small group support in classroom, vocational, and intervention settings.

• Deliver essential personal care routines (including hygiene, changing, and mobility support) in accordance with pupil healthcare plans.

• Assist students with emotional regulation, focus, and overcoming barriers to learning.

• Work collaboratively with Subject Teachers, Lecturers, and the SENCo team to implement EHCP targets.

• Support pupils in developing independence and key life skills in preparation for post-16 transitions.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in SEN support (in education, residential care, youth work, or support work settings).

• Willingness and capability to perform personal care duties.

• A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting secondary and college-aged students.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

• Right to work in the UK.
