This is an interesting Transport Planning opportunity to work with a fantastic SME Engineering Consultancy, with an experienced team, based in Central Nottingham. My Client has a brilliant reputation in the industry along with unrivalled staff retention, offer a real sense of team and work on some of the region’s most prestigious projects.

Role

As Principal Transport Planner, you will primarily be involved in preparing transport statements, transport assessments and travel plans to accompany planning applications for private sector clients.

You will simultaneously work on a variety of projects including residential, developments, care homes, healthcare, industrial and local authorities.

As Principal Transport Planner, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

Providing advice on highway and transport related planning issues, including access strategies and feasibility studies, based on current policy and guidance.
Preparing preliminary horizontal designs for site access junctions and highway improvements for highway authority approval.
Ensuring work is delivered to a high technical standard within agreed timescales, working both independently and supporting other team members.
Developing strong working relationships with clients, design teams (including internal and external multidisciplinary professionals) and highway authorities.
Person

Degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject such as Transport, Civil Engineering, Planning or Geography.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Transport and Traffic Planning
Experience using software such as TRICS and Junctions, LinSig, GIS, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, PDS Sign/Line.
A genuine passion for Transport Planning with excellent verbal and written communication skills
